Mafia Car Adder/Remover
0.6 Beta - Instructions

Preparation: |
- start Mafia DataXtractor
1.1 and patch the "rw_data.dll", if it was not done yet
- extract the "aa.dta" (tables), if it was not done yet
- extract the "a8.dta" (patch, only for Mafia version 1.1 and 1.2),
if it was not done yet
- the following files are needed from the folder "tables":
- "carcyclopedia.def"
- "carindex.def"
- "menu.def"
- "textdb_XX.def" (XX = i.e. de, en, fr, ...)
- "vehicles.bin"
- "version.txt"
- additional for Mafia version 1.1 and 1.2:
- the following files are needed from the folder "maps":
- "car01.bmp"
- "car02.bmp"
...
- "car80.bmp"
- "car81.bmp"
...
- the following file is needed from the folder "tables\menu":
- "selectcarmanufacturer.mnu"
- start Mafia Car Adder/Remover
- choose the Mafia directory and click "Load files"
(it may take some seconds)
- as example Mainzibaer's Horch 853 is used |

Adding a car: |
- explanation of the
features:
- Name of the car:
- just the name of the new car
- Name of the model file:
- can be chosen freely
- sould not contain spaces
- your model files will be renamed to
this when adding them
- necessary to add the car to the
city traffic
- Car data (optional):
- here you can enter the car data
which you can see in the menu in the game (i.e. power, weight, ...)
- you have 6 lines you can use
- Manufacturer:
- the car will be added to a
manufacturer from the list
- Use properties of:
- uses the properties and the sound
of a car from the list
- Number of colors:
- how many colors does the car shall
have? (remember that each color has an own model file)
- Drive:
- which drive does the car shall have?
- Steering:
- where is the steering of the car?
- Handbrake:
- on which wheels does the handbrake
have an effect?
- Convertible:
- shall the car be a convertible?
- Exhaust fumes:
- which kind of exhaust fumes shall
the car have?
- example:

- click on "Next" to continue
- here you can choose the model file and the texture files for each
color and the common textures
- explanation of the features::
- Name of the color:
- just the name of the color (can be
chosen freely)
- Model file:
- like I said: each color has an own
model file
- Texture files:
- these are the color textures used
by each color model (remember that they do not have the same names)
- multi select is possible (i.e.
color of the car, color of the seats, ...)
- Common textures:
- these are the textures used by all
color models
- example:

- click on "Next" to continue
- explanation of the features:
- Explosion model:
- each car has an explosion model
when it is exploded
- here you can use your own explosion
model
- or an existing one from the list
- Preview picture (optional):
- in Mafia version 1.1 and 1.2
there is a small preview picture of the car in the menu
- here you can use your own preview
picture
- or an existing one from the list
- Use shadow model of:
- each car has a shadow and these
shadows are made by shadow models
- you can use it only of an existing
car
- Create backups:
- if the box is checked,
backups of all loaded files will be made
- example:

- click on "Add car" to add the new car to the
game without replacing another one
- example:

- with the DC||ED and the entered name of the model file it is possible
to add the car to the city traffic
- with the MCVE (Mafia Car Value Editor) you can edit the car properties |

Removing a car: |
- select a car from the
list (search function can be used)
- example:

- click on "Delete car" to remove the car from
the game
- example:

- remove the car from the city traffic with the DC||ED now!
- unused textures have to be removed manually from the folder "maps"
- unused text strings can be removed with the Mafia Text-Editor now |

Adding a manufacturer: |
- explanation of the features:
- New manufacturer:
- enter the name of the new
manufacturer
- example:

- click on "Add manufacturer" to add the new manufacturer to the game
- example:

- you should add at least one car to this manufacturer to prevent
graphical errors in the menu in the game |

Removing a manufacturer: |
